Nel 2023, il settore delle energie rinnovabili in Italia ha visto operazioni per oltre 50 GW e investimenti per circa 80 miliardi di euro, il doppio rispetto all’anno precedente. Nonostante una semplificazione del processo autorizzativo, che ha visto un aumento del 73% nei progetti approvati, gli sforzi sono ancora insufficienti per raggiungere gli obiettivi ambientali previsti. Il costo crescente ha reso essenziale un aumento delle tariffe per garantire il successo delle aste sui nuovi impianti.
Il 26 giugno a Roma, in un evento in collaborazione con Il Sole 24 Ore, è stato presentato l’Irex Annual Report 2024. Il rapporto, elaborato dal think tank Althesys guidato dal professor Alessandro Marangoni, è considerato una risorsa fondamentale per l’industria verde.
Per il 2024, si prevede l’installazione di 7,1 GW di capacità rinnovabile in Italia, al di sotto degli obiettivi ministeriali. Nonostante l’Italia produca oltre il 50% della sua elettricità da fonti rinnovabili, il settore è sotto pressione a causa di un contesto macroeconomico difficile, alti tassi d’interesse, aumento dei costi dei materiali e incertezze normative.
Nel 2023, gli investimenti nel settore delle rinnovabili hanno superato gli 80 miliardi di euro, con fotovoltaico e agrivoltaico che guidano le iniziative. Tuttavia, esistono preoccupazioni riguardo la competitività dell’industria europea contro la concorrenza cinese e il protezionismo statunitense, specialmente con l’aumento dei costi di produzione. In Europa, i costi di generazione sono aumentati significativamente.
Infine, il rapporto Irex evidenzia la necessità di mantenere un adeguato margine di capacità termoelettrica per garantire la stabilità del sistema elettrico italiano di fronte all’elettrificazione crescente, sottolineando i rischi associati alla riduzione della capacità termoelettrica nel medio e lungo termine.
